Nutrition or God

I have some very wise colleagues who know much in keeping healthy. During those months when I was coughing I joined them to eat raw lettuce and tomatoes. I used to cringe at eating salad and told myself 2 times a week is enough! One dear friend and colleague of mine turned away from Christ and went his way as he felt is the right way according to his post modernism world. He steered his own ship, followed the vegan diet with fleeting mutton and bak kut the now and then (?!). Yes, that’s all part and parcel of post modernism world (pick and choose what you want to believe in). He meditated, went for meditation camps and laughing camps, he wanted to go to India, he popped many supplements, he exercised in the gym regularly, he did charity through associations, he was pursuing doctorate. He was a very wise in the world’s view. My dear friend passed away almost 2 years ago when he was only 38 from heart failure. Another guy, I read on his blog (www.upekah.blogspot.com) says he thinks he is still alive today from colon cancer because of Gerzhen Therapy. He has been amazingly very disciplined. Try juicing 13 glasses of fruit juice a day and still eat your meals and get some sleep! Amazing! He is doing very well and you can go to his blog if you want to follow Gerzhen therapy because he shows you in detail where and how to do it.

I used to think that if anyone is as wise as them and seemingly happy, then why would they need a personal God? They have found their “way” and are perfectly happy.

It got me thinking yesterday as I emailed out my guide to what I ate to my friend. I mean there is wisdom in eating good nutritious food. There is no doubt about that but to take God out of the equation is trouble for God says in Isaiah 40:23 that He “brings princes to naught, and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing. Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them, and they wither, and the tempest carries them off like stubble.”

These are princes and rulers of the world, what more we mere citizens who think we are wise!

And God continues in Isaiah 40:25-26:
“To whom then will you compare me, or who is my equal? says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see: Who created these? He who brings out their host and numbers them, calling them all by name;because he is great in strength, mighty in power, not one is missing.”

Our personal God cannot be compared and definitely not to human wisdom. He is mighty in power and strength and He knows and cares for each one of us and He is the One in control.

I cringe at what post modernism and new age has brought into the world. It has taken people away from even believing in the existence of God (they are god themselves) or even in the existence of themselves! And even if God exist, they say he is evil.

But the bible says differently and I have experienced Him personally. Though I did not have the wisdom of my colleagues or the man in “upekah”, yet because I love and acknowledged God first, He rescued me and protected me (Psalm 91).

I now realize that that if you are wise EVEN without God, there will be times you will be able to overcome trials. It is like the universal concept of sowing and reaping. That’s why karma works to a certain extent! See, no difference between christians and non believers to a certain extent!

Yesterday, I watched this man on “Miami Ink”, how he overcame manic depression and suicide and he wanted a tattoo of a skull biting a cobra to remind him of his victory. I thought it looked like a dead man biting the devil but he said the skull reminded him of his mortality. Interesting.

Ultimately, the bible says we are like grass that withers and can be blown away for God is in control. If you are with God, it is even more awesome like King Solomon who loved God. Because God is the One guiding you and not on our own strength. He makes it all stress free (as in we rest in Him), He brings the nutrition, the strategy for chemo, the friends, the family and finances in. Some say it is because I am young or Henry has the finances or nutrition or that somehow things all worked together for me. That “somehow” is GOD who pulled everything together.

I watched painfully how History Channel on 555 discussed in detail from a military perspective how Moses led the people out of Egypt. They took God out of the picture. They said it wasn’t God in the fire. It was an old Egyptian technique. And the cloud in the day was some smoke technique. Then they credited the victory to Moses’ vast knowledge of the dessert terrain even in the dark. Apparently, strategically, he deceived the Egyptians by putting the fire behind the Israelites and in the darkness he led 25,000 towards the sea before he parted it. Oh, and they credited the parting of the sea to Moses’ great knowledge of the area right down to when the tide was going out as the wind blew. Then, FINALLY, they admitted that even through it all, if you put it all together, the knowledge, the timing of the tide, having to lead 25,000 men in darkness to go in one direction is a MIRACLE ITSELF!

That “military strategy” was GOD’s hand upon them who pulled everything together!

The following verse is special to me because as I sought God, He gave me Henry. It was our wedding scripture verse. And as I sought Him again recently, He pulled me out of the pit and gave me life. Praise God through whom all blessings flow! Praise God indeed!

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Nutrition

Someone I know just called me and said her sis had her womb removed and found cancer. I gave her a guide to what I eat, so thought I'd share it with all of you too so you can pass on to those who might need it. If they are very disciplined they can go on Gerzhen diet which requires consumption of 13 fruit juices a day. So tiring. I won't have time for God! Praise God that this diet works for me. All glory to God! I have started taking fish since 3 weeks ago. Cod only and only once a week. :)

No salt, no oil during cooking, no sugar, no dairy except yoghurt, no eggs

Juicing twice a day (carrot + apple + flax seed + nuts if u like), (celery + apple + flax seed), (strawberries/blueberries + banana +lettuce + yoghurt) The idea is more vege for fibre.
Try not to buy to ripe fruits eg banana buy when green and just as it gets ripe, use it.
Green apples - get rid of any brown parts which has bacteria

Early morning - drink a glass of water w lemon 30 mins before any breakfast. Helps detox.

Breakfast
- Juicing (always drink juice first before food else fruit will rot on top of food)
- rest 30 mins
- rolled oats (organis shop) + soya powder (irganic shop) and warm water + raisins/chopped fruits
or
- toast bread (Adventis bread from cold storage) w fruit jam (no sugar)


Lunch
- brown rice (5 grain rice or 10 grain rice from organic shop) + leafy vege cooked in a bit of water n garlic. Dash some olive oil/flax seed oil on top of vege
or
- any organic noodles (very wide choice) + (soup stock cooked with onions, cut carrots, mushrooms, kei chi, dates, leafy vege)

Juicing before dinner

Dinner
quinoa (grain from organic shop (2 water:1 quinoa) + salad (mixed leaves) (salad dressing: lemon, olive oil, a bit of honey (manuka active/ 100% honey make sure no sugar)
or
add quinoa w onions, cut carrots, mushrooms, kei chi, dates, leafy vege and water and eat it soupy

Snacks - dried fruits eg apricot, figs, all sorts of nuts

E Excel Products. I take a lot of E Excel Products eg milenium (cactus juice n ginseng), nutriact (polysacharides), noco (respiratory), act (action), art (bones), circle (heart), lidan (for liver), nutrifresh (20 fruits n vege), herba (circulation)

It is good to take minimum milenium for recovery and nutriact to kill the cancer cells (32 times more powerful)

I think there should be E Excel distributors around to provide you with information and cds to listen to how immunology helps boost your immune system to generate T cells to fight the cancer cells.

If you can't find any, I can help find you one to contact you.

There were many people who recommended me products but i chose E excel because behind E excel is a Taiwanese doctor (Dr Chen) whose life long goal is to prevent cancer through immunology. Much research has gone into the potency of the product so we won't have to consume so much to reach that same potency required.

Fits of Rage

Galatians 5:19-20
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions

Before Nic came along, Henry and I said to each other that no matter what happens we will not use our children to vent out our frustrations or anger.

Last week, Nic was slow in starting his homework and that got Henry really mad. That’s what I mean by squeezing blood from the rock. It’s stuff like that that really hits us to the roof. Meanwhile, I was trying to take keys out of a little drawer and I dropped it suddenly and it all came crashing to the floor and the drawer actually split open! In the midst of anger, Henry looked at me and I scowled at Nic and then, before I knew it Nic got a beating! Poor guy, it wasn’t even his fault and Nic was terrified by that incident.

It’s mostly been like that previously and terribly painful for us doing homework with Nic. At the end of the day, we felt that rewarding Nic works better but still it does not work all the time and outburst like this still happens I pray only occasionally as we learn to trust God more and more. I have seen God's hand upon my children as we turn to Him. Even his music teacher commented just last week that Nic is stable now. Whew! Praise God!

We should never discipline our children when we are angry. I have learned a new way to overcome anger and I wanted to share with you. I’ve also shared this with Henry and I pray he will practice it more. It’s very simple. It’s in the bible.

1. Using our spiritual authority under Luke 10:19
”I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

AND
2. casting our cares unto the Lord in 1 Peter 5:7:
“7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

AND
3. Look at things above and PRAISE God Isaiah 6 "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."

First, we use our spiritual authority to bind and break the anger within us IN JESUS’ NAME. Then, we cast the anger, the worry, the anxiety unto the Lord and say “I cast them all unto you Lord, You take them Lord, in Jesus’ name”.

It’s terribly painful at first. Just saying “I cast you out anger in Jesus’ name!” is still painful but the more I say it and then cast them all unto God and then break out in praises to God “Hallelujah, hallelujah” sets me free and the anger no longer resides in my heart.

As I hugged Nic and said sorry to Nic for what we have done, I said out aloud “I cast you out anger in Jesus’ name. You get out now from this family in Jesus’ name! I loose the anointing of the holy spirit upon this family and God’s love, God’s peace, God’s joy flow into Nic right now right now”. Soon, he was happily doing his homework, no squeezing blood from a rock and 2 pages of completed homework which cheered Henry up all over again.

All glory to God! Really, it is not possible to get over anger without God. We just accumulate them in our heart waiting for them to explode one day. Yes, it can even manifest into cancer together with a whole host of other "open doors". My dad said “It is easier said than done”. But I learn that when I cast my cares unto Him who loves me so much, He is ABLE to deliver me out from the pit of anger.

Ephesians 3: 20

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us

Jeremiah 29

Two Sundays ago on 31 January 2010, I opened the bible in preparation for church service and I came to Jeremiah 29. I said to God, “Lord, not Jeremiah 29 againnnn! I know verse Jeremiah 29:11 already “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future”.

God said to me “Read it Jeremiah 29 again”. So I did. Then when I came to verse 12 and 13 it really spoke to me. For it’s so true that when I called Him after my diagnosis and prayed to Him, he really listened to me and when I sought Him I found him! Praise God! Then I received an sms from Lisa Choy not to miss the sermon by Leong Thien Fook that morning.

When I heard Thien Fook speak, he said it was not he that chose Jeremiah but Jeremiah came to him. When he revealed Jeremiah 29:13, I almost fell off my seat! Talk about holy spirit! And his sermon was almost similar to my last blog entry but mine was zoomed into a specific sickness and the influence we play in the people around us by testifying about God’s goodness and wonders.

There were false prophets in Jerusalem and Babylon then saying that God will bring them out of exile within 2 years but prophet Jeremiah said it’s not 2 years but 70 years! God’s purpose is that after the exile works in the hearts of the Israelites, they would seek Him and they will find Him.

God’s plan for us is to prosper but the process involves calamity. Why? Because when calamity has done its work in our hearts, we will seek Him with ALL our hearts. Hey! Just like me after being diagnosed and then desperately seeking God. I am so glad I found Him even though I call myself Christian - helping out in Sunday School and helping to lead a cell group. I wouldn’t say it’s hypocrisy. For me, I realize I did not know how to use my spiritual authority (Luke 10:19) to overcome my fears (2 Timothy 1:7) to serve Him more boldly and be more effective. I did not know how to use my spiritual authority to overcome my anger when addressing the kids at home. I also did not know how to cast my cares and prayers for others in my cell group unto the Lord as required in 1 Peter 5:7 and Philippians 4:6. I did not know because I prayed in HOPE and NOT in FAITH. Big difference.

These are all open doors to the devil for a foothold in my life. Quiet time when downhill when after a crazy time with and around the kids, I just wanted to unwind in front of the TV not caring for my health and overall well-being. Spiritually dry and still wanting to be near God.
I wasn’t giving God my full attention. I was giving it over to “foreign gods” not knowing better and it is such a folly as the bible would say. In addition to worshipping God, I was worshipping “foreign gods” (as mentioned above) as well.

As Thien Fook puts it well:

Worshipping God + foreign gods = Not worshipping with all your heart

Do not fall into the following ferocious cycle as I did:

Could not trust God completely ---> God is not real ----> hard to trust Him alone ----> trust in foreign gods

We need to be able to trust God and GOD ALONE because He is the creator of heaven and earth and everything in it. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than ALL I CAN EVER IMAGINE OR DO! (Epehsians 3:20) I am learning everyday how to do that and the more blessings I see, the more excited I am about being with God. Just the Friday night before Thien Fook’s sermon, I saw Ethan was developing some infection on his right eye as it was smaller than the left and puffy red. I prayed over him but the next morning it got even smaller! Yikes!

But still now, I learn to trust in God and not rush to the doctor (foreign god- sorry May Foong, I meant not to just rush to doctors first but put our trust in Him first and if need be He will work through the drugs) first. This time, both Henry and I prayed over Ethan and Henry’s palm covering Ethan’s right eye. It was quite an amusing sight because Ethan did not struggle and he looked like captain Hook from Peter Pan! I think Ethan too has seen many miracles in his life and trust Jesus too! By evening, the infection came down and by Sunday morning, all was well again! Praise the Lord. All Glory to God! Truly!

We only need to trust in God and God ALONE!

God does not need back up. We live in the supernatural once we are sons of God because he says we are heirs of God and co-heirs in Christ Jesus. Thanks Leong Thien Fook for the sermon and for obeying God to speak the rhema given to you to us.
