Seek and you will find

This Christmas touched Tony Jordan's heart. Tony Jordan, a BBC scriptwriter started researching and writing a script on the Nativity as a sceptic but found it to be a true story. What a change of heart touched by the holy spirit! It is as the bible says In Matthew 7:7-8

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

In an interview with Telegraph newspaper recently he said “If you accept that Jesus is Son of God, why would you not believe that Mary was a virgin and that God must have had some hand in the impregnation?” I was so fascinated by this turnaround of events and his comments that finally last night, we watched the four-part drama shown in peak-time slots in the run-up to Christmas Day over BBC. The insecurities of Herod made worse with the magi's search for the king, the alignment of the stars, a shepherd's family hardship made worse by Ceasar's declaration for taxes, Elizabeth pregnant with John revealed by God as the backdrop to the main story of Mary and Joseph made it even more convincing. It was interesting to see Mary and Joseph's relationship despite the public disgrace and how Joseph still had doubts even after his dream about Mary pregnant with the Messiah.

Tony Jordan said: "The challenge for me was to retell a story that has been told countless times before, a story that everyone knows intimately, yet to do so in a way that will still surprise and move you, to see parts of the story you'd never seen before. I really think that we've achieved that and I'm incredibly proud to have been asked by the BBC to be involved in such a wonderful project."

You got to watch this drama for yourself!

Another heartwarming news this Christmas was when we noticed that the shrine and the ancestral altar at one of our neighbour's house was removed during the recent renovation. We wondered if they had become Christians? Wouldn't that be such good news? I heard Henry shouted "It is confirmed!" and we hugged each other with such joy in our hearts! Apparently, he was Christian since 3 years ago but finally convinced his parents living with him to do away with ancestral worshipping. Praise the Lord! The beautiful part was his housewarming party was evangelistic with a loud and clear message in mandarin about the greatest gift God gave us - Jesus Christ.

I was just thinking how we can weave a whole lot of heartwarming stories of how Jesus touched us instead of newspaper news that depict christmas as another "spirit of giving", another charity drive, without any mention of Jesus. It is Jesus, word made flesh that came to be with us, to save us from God's wrath, that we may forever be with Him - with heaven in our hearts now, lives transformed from within with the power of the holy spirit.
