Speak Life

I didn’t know much about healing process. I knew Jesus healed during His time. When King Wai shared with me Jesus’ many miracles, I didn’t know how it could be connected to me. My cousin Tammy received healing twice from cancer. I thought she is a radical Christian. I spoke to her at length and enquired what her journey was like. Then, I began to understand that God’s promises in the bible and by claiming these promises, we can receive healing.

Isaiah 53:5
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24
24and He Himself)bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow. You can debate at length but the bible says, by His wounds we are healed. Earlier, I thought we just left it to God’s will. Yet, because of His revelation to me on the first night at the hospital, I knew He was not finished with me yet. As soon as I returned from hospital, my cell group members came together and we did a bible study on Jesus’ healing. We went round the table to get an understanding of God’s promises for us. I am so glad we had this sharing. If not, how can we pray with confident hope of God’s healing upon me.

I am blessed to receive a book entitled, “A message from God” by Retha and Aldo McPherson. I could relate to her journey and some of the extracts which made a strong impression on me are as follows:

“You have to lay down your life. I want your life”

“In my dream I speak to Aldo and tell him that I can see he is dying. I tell him that I’m letting him go so that he can go to Jesus, since I know that he had accepted Christ on that youth camp. Then Aldo answers me, saying, “Mommy don’t say it. Speak life over me. Speak life.”

“You will live, and you will have life to the fullest” “I didn’t realise it at the time but it wasn’t merely uttering words, I was speaking life to his spirit. After a while I could see color returning to his lips and his fingers stretching again”

“Prov 18:21: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit”


It’s the same in my journey. When Hamir, my neighbour prays for me, he always speak life to me. “God says you will live, you will live, you will live to testify”, “Don’t give up, don’t give up, don’t give up”, “God has a plan for you”, “I pray for protection, fire around your mind to protect you from lies from the enemy”, “Soak yourself in God’s word, soak yourself in God’s word, soak yourself in God’s word”, “Close your eyes and wait upon Him for a word”, “Speak in tongues, it is very powerful”.


We pray before going to see a doctor, for God’s protection that he/she will not dampen my spirit. Henry handles the forms so that I don’t see the prognosis though he says I know what it is.

Once, I was caught off guard talking to the Frontier people. I was almost in tears coming out. I was prompted to call Joyce’s mum who survived lung cancer. She told me about her miracle and she told me not to let anyone dampen my spirit and to reject all news or anyone that does even if they meant well. She lifted my spirit that day. King Wai said “Pray like this whenever anything dampens your spirit - I reject this is Jesus’ name”.

Only speak life.
